On Feb. 19 in Japan's Aichi Prefecture, police arrested a fourteen year-old boy. Earlier that evening, he apparently stabbed his mother with a sashimi knife. The cause? A dispute over a video game purchase.

At 5:35pm, the teen stabbed his mother in the back one time, reported Yomiuri News. The mother, age 50, suffered serious injury, but was able to call for help right after the stabbing. Police arrived soon thereafter and took the child into custody.

"Since she got angry at me for buying a video game without permission and confiscated it," the teenager said, "I got pissed." And then you stabbed your mom.

Ehhhh, I still stick to saying that video games had nothing to do with this.

It is pretty harsh that a kid would stab his own mother over a video game, surely there had to be more to it than just "oh she confiscated my video game" hell my mum did that to me all the time I didn't go that far.

which is why I said video games aren't to blame. probably just the straw that broke the camel's back.

A lot of games promote such heartless and sickening acts or at least let their players to do such a thing :(

People always find a way to blame things other than the person themselves. Obviously there was something wrong with the kid. What game/movie/show/book includes a scene where a kid stabs his mom because she took a game away? And what are the chances this kid saw it?

I agree with you. Some people just like blaming it all on TV/Videogames.

and games of course, XDD But yeah, people will blame everything on anything these days, because its in their nature to do so. People would never admit their faults. Always innocent?
